Telemecanique > Schneider show off their new innovative controls.
Recently in Germany at the SPS IPC Drives show Schneider Electric showed off their new innovative controls showcasing a motion controller, general purpose controllers, a servo drive, a programmable automation controller as well as the improved version of Schneider Electrics SoMachine software (process expert software) that merges energy management and Scada / PLC functions.
Schneider Electric released several general-purpose controllers together called Modicon M2X range, They are an expansion of the Machine Struxure brand but are said to be as much as ten times quicker than other standard systems. The three types of new controllers are:
Schneider basic level Modicon M221 which is a 24 I/O logic controller for simple hard-wired applications, which is said to give an innovative performance. The Modicon M221 could be widened by using a maximum of fourteen modules that include: motor starters, analogue and digital I/O as well as safety modules.
Schneider Modicon M241 is more powerful and is founded on a dual-core processor as well as supporting CANopen communications. The modicon M241 has a web server that permits remote access from mobiles.
Schneider Modicon M251 targets distributed architecture applications. It takes the place of the I/O terminal variety of the initial two M2X controllers with ports and a couple of various Ethernet networks; it also has an inbuilt Ethernet switch. A different version contains a CANopen master interface which could support up to sixty three slaves, with an Ethernet switch and an Ethernet port. Schneider servo drive, known as the Lexium 28 which slots between its Lexium 23 and 32 models, as well as using functions from higher specification model for example auto-tuning, embedded safety and load sharing .
The drives, which have a power range of 0.05-4.5 kilowatt, which provides torque and speed which are lined to the new controllers and the current LMC058 by the CANopen.
Schneider Electric has broadened its PACDRIVE brand. It starts with the LMC100C which is a PLC-Based controller and consists of dedicated models for applications that have four to sixteen axes.
Schneider ILM62 servo drives have built in central PSUs and servo controllers. The ILM62 can manage up to forty five connected motors by connection modules and no longer require intermediate distribution boxes.
Schneider have also release their innovative Plant Stuxure a software package which is also a Process Expert System that merges energy management with DCS, Scada and PLC functions. These products will shortly reach the market and Schneider Electric will be trendsetters once again.
