Pilz has released a new safety relay Pilz pnozs30 relay that inspects equipment for secure standstill, over speed plus the path of rotation.

The new Pilz relay, the Pilz PNOZ s30 is connected to motor feedback systems which use incremental encoders or proximity sensors for speed signals.

Users can enter parameters by utilizing a rotary knob and built-in display. When the pnoz s3 safety relay is in operation the display shows the speed and the LED’s show the state of the output relay.

Stand still monitoring is usually coupled with secure position monitoring, as a result permitting position controllers or suspended axes to become monitored. The Pilz relay PNOZ s30 could be applied to check maximum speeds in combination with detecting the direction of rotation. Users can define warning thresholds. The pilz relay has separate programmable safety associated relay output contacts, auxiliary semiconductor outputs, restart and safe-off position feedback circuit inputs.
