The CAFC hood comprises of an aluminium cover running the full length of the valve terminal, with retaining clips at either end of its bottom edge to accept socket head securing screws.

This protective valve terminal hood does away with the need for control cabinets, saving up to 70% on installation costs.

Festo say the new CAFC hood dramatically reduces the cost of installing valve terminals  and uses a lot less space, compared to the historical solution of using a control cabinet.  The Festo CAFC is fabricated from low cost aluminium, designed to use less material and has a vast cost saving compared to traditional cabinets. The CAFC hood is compatible with any Festo valve terminal, including the popular Festo CPX multifunctional automation platform.  It provides a very high ingress of protection against dust, water droplets etc. As well as providing a barrier to guard against impact damage and helping prevent tamper damage.  The CAFC is also suitable for use in ATEX Zone 2 and Atex zone 22 environments, where combustible gas, vapours or dust are not present in the air, but if they are for a short period could combust.

The Festo CAFC hood has unrestrictive access due to its design, when open presents complete access to vale terminals.
