IFM Sensors > New sensor O2V that uses Blob Analysis.
IFM have just launched a small and very cost effective vision sensor that offers a different way of reliable inspection and error-proofing.
IFM’s dualis O2V sensor uses a technique known as blob analysis, this means that it can determine characteristics of objects and can check not just the presence, but the size, position or completeness of the object or objects.
The New IFM sensor analyzes the area of an object by counting the pixels. The sensor brings together illumination and evaluation in a strong, IP67- protected housing which is suitable for temperatures from -10 to +60°c. When the object passes the test it comes up with an OK signal.
An Ethernet interface (Ethernet IP or TCP/IP) allows remote maintenance as well as saving error images and evaluation data. This can also be used to update the sensor, as well as linking it to PLCs. IFM’s dualis O2V sensor comes with free software.
The dualis O2V sensor has a pushbutton setup and a 4- digit numeric display that tells you about the sensor’s output. The sensor is easy to set-up as well as supporting Allen-Bradley’s Ethernet IP and standard Ethernet TCP products. The 24VDC O2V units are 24VDC and the come with PNP or NPN output.
